Hi, I’m Esther but I mostly go by Tassy Omah

Senior Product Designer, founder, builder, and creator based in Ontario, Canada.

I studied Computer Science because I was curious about how technology worked. The further I got into it, the more I was interested in the questions that came before the code: Who are we building this for? Why does it need to exist? Why does it look this way? What if it worked differently? That curiosity pulled me into product design.

Since then, I’ve worked with startups, founders, agencies, and product teams across fintech, crypto, SaaS, energy and healthcare. I’ve designed products from the earliest stages through to use at scale: Blockradar, a stablecoin wallet platform that has since moved over a billion; Aether, where I designed a solar CRM and solar design tool, leading to a $2.5M seed round and almost $1M in ARR; Seampay, serving 100K+ users; Reown, a 3-in-1 SaaS for automobile businesses that got acquired; and the six-product suite for Internal Healthcare.

Lately I’ve been experimenting with code, Claude, and Codex to build some of my own products. It’s made it much easier to take an idea beyond the design file.

Five years into my career, I went back to school for a Master’s in Digital Media & Global Communications, still on the relationship between technology, people and communication. While completing my master’s, I started Homalabs part-time as a design studio. It has grown into a space for product work, content, conversations and initiatives for other designers.

I’m also building Uiland, a Mobbin alternative focused on African products. My friends and I started it because most UI inspiration platforms barely covered products from Africa. It is now a library of more than 1,000 apps, African and global.

A lot of my work has been early-stage, where there isn’t always a clear brief. I like asking the questions, making sense of the chaos, and figuring it out. For my next phase, I’m looking to work with a larger, more structured organization and experience what product development looks like at that scale. I want to bring what I’ve learned from figuring things out fast in startups, while working with teams with more established systems. If that sounds like the kind of team you’re building, I’d love to hear from you.

I started Homalabs to help founders turn an early idea into something viable. I lead a small team doing end-to-end design for them.

  • In 2025, my team and I designed a suite of products for a senior care platform based in Tampa, Florida: senior care mobile app, care provider portal, family needing care portal, admin website, care donation portal, 15-page website
  • In 2026, we’re working on the internal tools being used to run a large community engagement (Dataraflow), with portals for mentees, mentors and administrators, plus community management features

I’m building a Mobbin alternative that covers both African and global brands, for designers and teams to reference.

  • Grown it from African products into a library of more than 1,000 apps from Africa and all around the world

First designer at a Paris-based solar startup, working across the product from 0→1. Aether raised a $500K preseed and a $2.5M seed at a $25M valuation, closed a $500K ARR deal, and grew toward $1M ARR during my time there.

  • Solar CRM: Designed the Deal Hub for managing projects, customers, and sales activity in one place.
  • Solar CAD: Designed the AI-powered solar design tool, including roof geometry, obstructions, trees, fire pathways, and AHJ requirements.
  • Proposals: Designed Lite and Pro proposals for homeowners and sales reps.
  • Document Manager: Designed contract generation using data from the deal and solar design, including automated signer fields.
  • Website: Designed and built both v1 and contributed to v2 of Aether’s website using Framer.

I led design on a 3-in-1 SaaS for automobile businesses, starting from nothing.

  • Designed the reporting app for repair hubs, then tested and iterated the reporting and customer apps
  • Built responsive tools for dealers and insurers to manage vehicles, reports and customers
  • Led and reviewed the design work with stakeholders, UX writers and engineers

Seamless Financial full-time and Lazerpay part-time.

Seamless Financial

  • Designed the SeamPay Bills web app, 500+ successful transactions in its first month
  • Redesigned the mobile app: a 20% lift in satisfaction and 15% in revenue, serving 100K+ users
  • Designed CRM dashboards for SeamPay Business, plus SeamPay Links and payment links

Lazerpay

  • Worked with the Lazerpay founders to design and build Getkwid, a fintech mobile app
  • It was built and tested internally, but sadly we couldn’t raise for the product

I freelanced on Upwork for some months, working on Ourea’s wealth management and insurance system, while mentoring other designers in Wetech, a community of over 10k women.

  • Set the tasks, walked the designers through the process, and reviewed their work
  • Shared resources and held weekly and bi-weekly calls with them for 3 months

My first proper full-time job after freelancing a bit, on Argyle’s learning management software: the student/learner portal and the admin portal, for both web and responsive views.

  • Designed the admin dashboard experience on an e-learning system
  • Collaborated with the team to iterate and improve the overall user experience of the Argyle learning management system (SaaS)

From my second year in school, I learnt graphic design and designed basic logos and social media flyers for businesses like Zankli Medical for about a year, before switching to Figma and starting on UI.

After about a year of learning and practicing, I started working on real projects. Most of this work is undocumented, but you might find some snippets in my portfolio from 2022 . Alongside that I had a lot of freelance and side projects while completing my computer science degree. This was completed between 2020 and 2021, and I focused fully on design.
